How your data is protected by Lucy Fuller

As the owner of Lucy Fuller Psychotherapy, I am a data controller and processor which means that I collect information about the people who contact me either via my website or via a telephone call. I only collect data where it is necessary to provide a service to you or to give you helpful information. I operate in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations GDPR (2018) and I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

When you contact me, I use your data to make contact with you to give you information about my therapy services and, where appropriate, to arrange an initial assessment session with you. If we then go ahead with a course of psychotherapy, I will ask you to complete a personal information form and sign a contract which can be done either electronically or in person. All electronic communications are kept securely and remotely via password protected and encrypted online systems. All hand written information is anonymised and kept remotely and securely locked away.

All information about you is kept for seven years and then destroyed.

When working with under 18s, all communication outside of sessions is via a parent/parents/guardian/guardians and this information is protected in the same way. Your permission will always be sought before sharing information or contacting a third party, such as the child’s school or another specialised health practitioner. The only exception is where I am concerned about the safety of your child.
